Description

A wine cooler 23cm tall and 23cm across, straight sided, with the rim rolled out at the top and two short bar handles set just below it on opposite sides. The whole body is covered in a stamped pattern worked by hand: bands of small repeated marks running round the cooler, with a row of short vertical strokes near the foot. The metal is a warm antique brass.

It holds 7.3 litres, which is enough for a wine bottle or a champagne bottle with ice packed round it. The two handles carry it from a kitchen to a table without it having to be gripped round the body. At 23cm tall and 23cm across it stands as wide as it is high, so it reads as a straight cylinder rather than a tapered bucket.

The cooler is aluminium under an antique brass finish. The pattern is worked into the metal by hand, so no two coolers carry it identically and the bands do not line up in the same places twice.
