Description
The Nala is an adjustable table lamp with a dome shade in matt black, carried on a long gold arm that lets you put the light exactly where you want it. The arm is counterbalanced across a slim gold upright, pivoting at a round central joint so the shade can be raised, lowered and angled, and a small gold ball caps the top of the upright. A round black base keeps the whole lamp steady on the table. It takes one E14 lamp, and lamps are not included, so you can choose the bulb that suits the room: a warm white for a relaxed evening light, a cooler white for focused work.
Because the dome can be angled, this lamp earns its place on a desk, where it throws light down onto paperwork or a keyboard. It works just as well on a side table, sideboard or bedside table, where it can be turned towards the wall for a softer glow. It sits comfortably beside a reading chair too. The mid-century lines of the black shade and gold arm suit a modern living room, a study or home office and a bedroom alike. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only.
The finish pairs matt black on the shade with gold on the arm and upright. The lamp runs on 220-240V from a 2m textile cable, which gives you some freedom in where the table stands. It is switched on and off rather than dimmed, so there is no dimmer to buy or fit. It carries a 2 year guarantee. Set it against a pale wall, where the gold arm reads clearly, and pair it with dark wood, black frames or warm metal details to pick up its two tones.
