Description

The Murané is a pendant light with an 18cm sphere of pink glass. Its surface is rippled and dimpled, so the light inside plays across it. The sphere hangs on a fine cable from a small cap in a Brushed Champagne finish, on a drop of up to 300cm. Inside is an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It gives a warm 2700K light with a CRI of 90, which keeps colours true, and 167lm of output: a soft glow rather than a working light, drawing 2.7W or 4W depending on the version.

We see it over a dining table or in a living room, where a single sphere gives a gentle pink glow and a few together make a small group of colour. It comes in two versions: with canopy, or without canopy, for multi-pendant canopies (sold separately). The version with canopy has its own round canopy, 5.5cm across and 13cm tall, and hangs on its own from the ceiling. The version without canopy is made to hang from one of those multi-pendant canopies, so several spheres can share one fixing. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms indoors only.

The sphere is pink glass and the cap is finished in Brushed Champagne, a soft metallic tone that warms the pink without competing with it. It runs on 230V mains and is wired in by a qualified electrician. The 24V DC version needs a remote 24V DC driver (not included), sold separately, which supplies the low-voltage power that version runs on. It will not work without one. Before you order, check your ceiling height against the 300cm maximum drop, so the sphere hangs where you want it.
