Description

The Murané is a glass sphere pendant light, 18cm across, in Amber glass with a rippled surface that catches the light and bends it softly as it passes through. It hangs on a slim cable from a small fitting in Brushed Champagne, and the light comes from an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. Depending on the version, the LED draws 2.7W or 4W and gives 167 lumens of warm 2700K light with a CRI of 90, so wood, fabric and skin tones look natural beneath it.

We think it suits a dining room or a living room, where a warm amber glow sits well over a table or beside a favourite chair. You can choose it With canopy, hanging alone from its own canopy, 5.5cm across and 13cm tall, or Without canopy, for multi-pendant canopies (sold separately), where it joins other pendants on one shared canopy so you can hang a group of spheres over a long table. The drop goes up to 300cm, so it can hang low or sit higher in a room with a tall ceiling. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only.

The sphere is Amber glass and the fitting at its top is finished in Brushed Champagne, a soft metallic tone that sits easily with the warmth of the glass. It runs on 230V mains and is wired in by a qualified electrician. For the 24V DC version only, you will also need a remote 24V DC driver (not included), sold separately, which converts the mains supply to the low voltage that version runs on; without it, that version will not light. As a practical note, measure from ceiling to table top before you order, so you know how much of the 300cm drop you need and the sphere clears heads comfortably.
