Description

The Montrose is an 8x10 photo frame built from cast aluminium segments arranged in an overlapping square-tile pattern around a portrait-orientation aperture. Each segment is individually cast, then joined to form a 28.5cm-wide border with an antique gold finish that shows textural variation across the metal surface. The frame weighs 1.4kg and sits on an integrated kickstand at the rear.

Designed for mantelpieces, sideboards and console tables where a heavier frame will not shift easily, the Montrose accepts standard 8x10 inch (approximately 20x25cm) prints in portrait orientation only. The kickstand allows the frame to be positioned on flat surfaces without requiring wall mounting, making it suitable for occasional rearrangement. Assembly requires a Phillips screwdriver to secure the backing plate.

The cast aluminium construction produces a different surface texture on each segment, so no two Montrose frames are identical once cast. The antique gold finish is applied after casting and shows darker tones in the recesses of the textured surface, giving depth to the border pattern. The 2.5cm frame depth provides clearance for photographs mounted on card or board without creating excess gap between the glass and the print.
