Description

This is a set of two round glass tealight holders, each 7.5cm across and 7.5cm tall, a short, squat shape that holds a single tealight. Both are covered on the outside in a mosaic finish over a nude ground. One carries rows of diamond shapes between bands of small reflective tiles at the rim and the base; the other has a large eight-pointed star at its centre, ringed by little star tiles and a fine beaded texture. They differ in pattern but match in size and colour, so they read as a true pair.

Light a tealight in each and the glow comes through the glass, catching on the mosaic pieces and throwing small points of light onto the surface beneath. They are a Christmas piece and look at home on a windowsill among greenery and wrapped presents, along a mantelpiece or down the middle of a festive table. Because the nude tone is soft rather than loud, they also sit happily on a bookshelf, a bedside table or a hallway console once the decorations come down.
