Description

The Mitralux is a 5-light iron chandelier with a 61cm circular frame in aged bronze, five curved arms extending from a central hub, and drip trays beneath each bulb holder. Each arm terminates in a candle-style SES bulb holder with a cream candle sleeve, and the chandelier hangs from a matching aged bronze chain and ceiling rose. Bulbs are sold separately, with each fitting accepting up to 60W.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and living rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Mitralux works in traditional, period and heritage-inspired interiors where a wrought-iron aesthetic fits the room character. The 61cm diameter suits dining tables of 1.4-1.8m length or central positions in rooms up to 4m square. The 29.5cm body height plus chain drop means the chandelier typically hangs 700-900mm above a dining table surface depending on ceiling height and chain adjustment during installation.

The aged bronze finish is a darker, oxidised-looking treatment applied to the iron frame, giving the metal a weathered patina rather than a bright metallic sheen. The turned finials at each arm end and the scrolled details near the central hub add detailing without ornament overload. At 6kg the chandelier needs secure ceiling fixing into a joist or suitable ceiling anchor rated for the load, and the chain conceals the cable run from ceiling rose to the fitting body.

The Mitralux takes five SES (E14 small Edison screw) candle bulbs, each rated up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K for a traditional candle-flame look.

What dining table size does it suit?

The 61cm diameter works well over dining tables between 1.4m and 1.8m in length. For larger tables consider a chandelier with a wider diameter or multiple fittings spaced along the table length.

How is the drop adjusted?

The chain can be shortened during installation by removing links and looping excess cable inside the ceiling rose. The 29.5cm body height is fixed, so total drop from ceiling to the lowest point depends on how much chain is left in the run.

What ceiling fixing is needed?

At 6kg the chandelier requires secure fixing into a ceiling joist or a suitable anchor rated for the load. Standard plasterboard fixings are not sufficient — the ceiling rose must be screwed into solid timber or a spreader plate fixed across joists.
