Description
This is a round stoneware platter, 30.5cm across and only 3cm tall, made to bring food to the table rather than sit in a cupboard. The centre is moulded as a citrus slice in relief, its segments radiating from a small middle point, and two small pointed tabs at either side complete the fruit's outline. A vivid reactive glaze pools green across the segments and breaks into speckles towards the rim, picking out every raised line. At 1.16KG it has a reassuring weight in the hand.
At that size it is a true serving platter, wide enough for a spread to share, and the shallow depth keeps everything within easy reach. Use it to carry sliced fruit, cheese and crackers, biscuits with coffee or a tart cut into wedges for the middle of the table. It suits a relaxed weekend lunch in the kitchen, a long dinner with friends or a birthday tea, and between meals it makes a cheerful centrepiece on a dresser, an open shelf or the kitchen island.
The platter is 100% stoneware and goes in the dishwasher, which makes it easy to use often. It does not go in the microwave or the oven, so warm food elsewhere and bring it to the platter to serve. Reactive glazes shift as they fire, so the way the green flows and speckles differs from piece to piece, and yours will be its own. Stoneware is dense and hard wearing, well suited to everyday use. For styling, we like to let the pattern show: pile food to one side so a few segments stay visible, or pair it with plain plates and linen so the green carries the table.

Frequently Asked
What is the platter made of?
It is made of 100% stoneware, finished in a vivid reactive glaze that pools green over the moulded citrus segments.
Can it go in the dishwasher?
Yes. The platter goes in the dishwasher, so it is easy to clear away after a meal with friends.
Can I use it in the microwave or the oven?
No. It does not go in the microwave or the oven, so heat food in its own dish and move it to the platter to serve.
How big is the platter?
It is 30.5cm across and 3cm tall, a generous size for sharing at the table, and it weighs 1.16KG.
Will every platter look exactly the same?
Not exactly. Reactive glazes flow differently in each firing, so the speckling and the depth of green vary a little from piece to piece.
What can I serve on it?
It is made for food, so use it for fruit, cheese and crackers, biscuits, cakes or a sliced tart at the centre of the table.
