Description

The Mika is a pendant light built around a single globe of opal white glass, hung from a gold canopy. It comes in two sizes, each named for its glass shade: a 30cm globe or a 40cm globe, and both sit beneath an 8cm canopy. The sphere is a pure round form with nothing to break the curve, and the opal glass softens the light from its one E27 lamp holder into a gentle glow across the whole shade. The lamp is not included, so you choose the E27 bulb you prefer and change it whenever you like.

We like the 30cm globe in a hallway, on a landing or hung in a pair beside a bed, where it gives soft light without crowding the space. The 40cm globe has the size to hold its own over a dining table or in the middle of a living room ceiling. The textile cable is 1.5m long, which leaves plenty of scope for the height your room needs. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only: living rooms, bedrooms, studies, hallways and dining rooms. Its modern lines suit a contemporary scheme, and the gold sits just as comfortably among older furniture.

The structure is iron in a gold finish, the shade is glass and the cable is textile, a simple pairing of warm metal and soft white.
