Description

Mercury cable ties measure 4.8mm wide by 300mm long and are moulded from black nylon 6/6 with a self-locking head that engages a toothed strip along the tie body. Each tie supports a maximum load of 181lb (82kg) when tensioned, making them suitable for medium to large cable bundles, securing equipment to mounting frames, or binding together pipework runs in commercial and domestic installations.

The 300mm length accommodates bundles up to approximately 90mm diameter when fully tightened, which suits typical CAT6 patch cable runs of 15-20 cables, or 6-8 standard mains power leads bundled together. The ties are rated for continuous operation between -40°C and 85°C, allowing use in both outdoor UK weather conditions and indoor environments where cables run near heat sources such as server racks or lighting control gear.

Black nylon resists UV degradation better than natural (white) nylon, making these ties appropriate for semi-exposed outdoor applications where cables run under eaves, through outdoor enclosures, or in shaded garden lighting installations. The nylon remains flexible across the full temperature range rather than becoming brittle in cold conditions, so ties can be cut and removed for re-working without shattering. Supplied in packs of 100.
