Merapi Lava Large Vase - Gold & Dark Bronze

The Merapi Lava is a 27cm tall aluminium vase with a dark bronze exterior finish, a soft gold interior, and an organic lava-effect rim that mimics the irregular edge of cooled volcanic glass. The rim treatment gives each vase a unique profile where molten-style detailing wraps around the top edge in raised, textured waves.

Designed as a centrepiece for console tables, dining tables and sideboards, the vase works both as a standalone sculptural object and as a vessel for dried stems, pampas grass or cut flowers. The 25.5cm width at the widest point gives the vase enough presence to anchor a display without dominating a 1.2-1.4m console or sideboard. The gold interior catches light when viewed from above or at an angle, creating contrast against the matte bronze outer surface.

The aluminium construction keeps the weight at 2kg despite the 27cm height, making the vase stable on most surfaces without requiring additional ballast. Can this vase hold water for fresh flowers?

The vase can hold water, but the aluminium construction means it is not food-safe and may develop water marks or condensation rings on surfaces beneath it. Use a liner or protective mat if displaying fresh flowers, or use it with dried stems where no water is required.

Does the lava-effect rim vary between pieces?

Yes. The rim detail is applied as a textured finish that mimics organic volcanic glass, so the exact pattern and profile differ slightly between individual vases. This variation is intentional and part of the design.

What size table does it suit?

The 25.5cm width works on console tables from 1.2m upwards, dining tables of 1.4m or longer, and sideboards where it can sit alongside other decorative objects. On narrower surfaces the vase may dominate the available space.

How is the bronze finish maintained?

Wipe gently with a dry, soft cloth to remove dust. For fingerprints or marks, a barely-damp microfibre cloth is acceptable. Do not use abrasive cleaners, metal polishes or chemical sprays, as these may alter the matte bronze finish.
