Description
A square cushion cover, 50 x 50cm, with a front of cotton velvet and a reverse of natural linen. The colour is a warm red that leans towards burnt orange, and the pile catches the light so the same panel reads lighter across the middle than it does down the sides. A flange edge runs all the way round outside the seam, a flat border of the same velvet left soft rather than stiffened, so it lies over the corners rather than standing away from them.
At 50 x 50cm this is the standard square size, so it takes a 50cm inner and sits alongside others of the same size on a sofa or across the head of a bed. The velvet reads differently depending on which way the pile has been brushed, so one cushion changes tone as it is moved or leaned on. The reverse is plain linen, which gives the cover a second face.
The front is cotton velvet and the reverse is natural linen. The velvet carries no pattern, and the pile marks where the fabric has been pressed, so the surface holds soft lighter patches rather than lying flat. The same cover is made at this size in three other colours, and a longer rectangular shape is made in the same velvet. An inner is not included.

Frequently Asked
What size inner does it take?
A 50 x 50cm inner, which is not included. This is the cover on its own.
What is the back made from?
Natural linen. The velvet is on the front only.
What is the flange edge?
The flat border of velvet that runs round the outside of the seam. It is left soft rather than stiffened, so it lies over the corners of the inner.
Will the colour run?
All the cushion covers and throws are tested for colourfastness.
How do I deal with a mark?
Spot clean only. Lift the liquid first with an absorbent tissue, then blot the area with a sponge or a folded towel moistened in lukewarm water. To avoid a water mark, dry the area by blowing warm air across the surface with a hair dryer. Larger or more stubborn stains should be cleaned by a professional.
