Description
The Menmai is a long rectangular cushion cover, 80cm wide and 35cm tall, cut from cotton velvet in a muted dusty pink. A flat flange edge runs around all four sides, stitched in from the seam so the filled face stands slightly proud of a plain border. The velvet carries a short nap that shades lighter and darker across the face as it turns to the light, and the reverse is natural linen.
A cushion this shape lies along the back of a sofa or across the head of a bed, where a square one stands upright. At 80cm it runs most of the width of a two-seat sofa on its own, and set in front of a row of square cushions it breaks the line of them. The colour moves with the light: warm and close to caramel under a direct lamp, and clearly pink against cream upholstery.
The face is cotton velvet and the reverse is natural linen, so the two sides take the light differently. This is the cover. The Menmai range runs in this long 35 by 80cm size in dusty pink, cinnamon, cream and eucalyptus, and in a square 50 by 50cm size in dusty pink, cinnamon, red and eucalyptus.

Frequently Asked
How do I look after the velvet?
Spot clean only. Lift any liquid with an absorbent tissue first, then blot the area with a sponge or a folded towel moistened in lukewarm water. Drying it with warm air from a hair dryer played across the surface helps avoid a water mark. Larger or more stubborn marks should go to a professional.
What is the reverse made from?
Natural linen. The face is cotton velvet.
Will the colour fade?
Every cushion cover and throw in the range is tested for colourfastness.
Is the colour the same as the photographs?
In our photographs the colour reads warmer than the name suggests. Under a direct light the velvet reads close to caramel, and against cream upholstery it reads clearly pink.
What size is it?
80cm wide, 35cm tall and 1cm deep.
