Description
A single wick candle in a hand blown recycled glass vessel, 9cm tall and 9cm across, finished in a mottled antique gold that runs thin over an off white ground in some places and gathers thickly in others. The rim is left rough and uneven where the glass was worked rather than ground flat. The scent is spiced mandarin with warming clove and woody cinnamon, over natural patchouli oil, developed for this range by a family owned fragrance house.
It burns for 45 to 50 hours from one cotton wick, two to four hours at a time. At 9cm in every direction it takes little room on a side table, a mantelpiece or a shelf, and it wants a stable, heat proof surface under it and moving air around it rather than a draught. The vessel is meant to be kept once the 270g of wax has gone: emptied out, it stands as a small vase.
The wax is a blend of sustainably sourced European soy wax and natural beeswax, poured by hand and packed in the UK by a family run business. The vessel is blown by hand from recycled glass by skilled makers in India, so the thickness of the wall and the fall of the gold differ from one to the next. Other scents in the range run to cardamom and amber, cedarwood and fig, juniper and fir, oakmoss and rose, and sea salt and moss.

Frequently Asked
How long does it burn for?
About 45 to 50 hours.
How many wicks does it have?
One, in cotton.
What does it smell of?
Spiced mandarin and warming clove, with woody cinnamon and natural patchouli oil under them.
How should I burn it?
Let the wax melt right out to the edge the first time it is lit. Trim the wick to 5mm before each burn, give it at least two hours but no more than four at a time, and keep it out of a draught in a well ventilated room. Stand it somewhere stable and heat protected, away from children, pets and anything that will catch, and take off any dust or debris before relighting. Never move it while it is lit or leave it unattended, and stop burning when about 10mm of candle is left.
Can the glass be used again?
Yes, it is made to be. Put the vessel in a freezer for six to twelve hours until the wax has shrunk away from the glass and can be knocked gently out, then wipe it with a clean damp cloth. Do not leave it to soak, do not scrub it, and keep abrasive cloths and harsh detergents away from it.
