Description
This is the Majorelle cushion, a printed outdoor scatter cushion measuring 40 x 60cm. One face carries a hand-painted leopard stretched full-length across a ground of blue Moroccan tiles, framed by palm fronds and small tropical flowers. Turn it over and the reverse gives you the tile pattern on its own, a softer wash of azure and teal squares. It is made from 100% polyester and finished with a matching piped trim in a warm gold that picks up the edge of the print.
At 40 x 60cm this is a bolster-style rectangle rather than a square, so it works well laid along the back of a garden sofa or bench where a square cushion would sit too tall. The palette leans into deep blues and greens, and it sits happily against pale linen seating, natural timber and other tropical or animal prints. Because the fabric is treated for outdoor use, you can leave it out through a bright day and bring it in when the weather turns, which makes it a practical choice for a patio, a covered terrace or a conservatory.
The print runs the full width on the leopard side, so the design reads best when the cushion sits flat and unsquashed. The reversible construction means you get two looks from one cushion: the full scene when you want the pattern to lead, and the calmer tiled face when you want the seating to settle back. A zip closure runs along one edge so the cover can come off. The supplier describes the fabric as water-resistant and specially treated for the elements, which is worth knowing if the cushion will live outdoors for much of the season.

Frequently Asked
Can this cushion be left outside?
The supplier describes the fabric as water-resistant and specially treated for outdoor use, so it is made for a patio or garden. We would still bring it in during heavy or prolonged rain to keep it at its best.
Is the cushion the same on both sides?
No, it is reversible with two different faces. One side shows the leopard and full tropical scene, the other shows the blue tiled pattern on its own for a calmer look.
What size is it and what shape?
It measures 40 x 60cm, so it is a rectangular bolster-style cushion rather than a square. That length suits laying it along the back of a sofa or bench.
Does the cover come off?
Yes, there is a zip closure along one edge, which lets you remove the cover from the pad when you need to.
What is the fabric made from?
It is made from 100 per cent polyester, a hard-wearing synthetic that holds printed colour well and copes better with damp and sunlight than many natural fibres.
