Description

The LYYT Wide Crown is a 2m surface-mount LED profile in black anodised aluminium with a 24mm external width and a frosted polycarbonate diffuser that spans 21mm of the visible face. The profile houses LED tape up to 20mm wide in a 7mm-deep recess, with the curved crown diffuser sitting flush on top to spread light evenly and reduce visible LED hotspots.

Designed for surface mounting on ceilings, walls, shelving and furniture, the profile works in applications where the LED tape run needs to sit proud of the mounting surface rather than recessed into it. Common uses include under-cabinet lighting in kitchens, cove lighting along ceiling edges, shelf edge lighting in retail displays, and accent lighting on feature walls. The black anodised finish suits dark-toned interiors, blending into black ceilings, charcoal walls and dark wood furniture where a silver or white profile would create unwanted contrast.

The profile is supplied as a 2m length of extruded aluminium with mounting clips and end caps included. The frosted diffuser snaps into the channel and can be removed for maintenance or LED tape replacement without disturbing the fixed mounting. The 11mm total height gives a low-profile presence once installed, and the aluminium acts as a heat sink for the LED tape, extending the life of the diodes.

What width LED tape does it take?

The internal recess is 20mm wide and 7mm deep, so LED tape up to 20mm wide fits comfortably. Standard 10mm and 12mm LED tapes are the most common pairings, leaving clearance on either side for the adhesive backing to grip the aluminium base.

How is the diffuser held in place?

The frosted polycarbonate diffuser snaps into the aluminium channel using friction clips moulded into the profile's sides. It can be removed by hand for LED tape installation or replacement and re-clipped without tools.

Can the profile be cut to length?

Yes. The aluminium extrusion can be cut with a hacksaw or mitre saw to any length shorter than 2m. Cut edges should be deburred with a file before fitting the end caps.

What's included in the box?

The profile is supplied with the 2m aluminium extrusion, frosted diffuser, mounting clips and end caps. LED tape, power supplies and connectors are sold separately.
