Description

The LYYT Tall Crown is a 2m black aluminium LED profile with an 18x16mm external section and a curved crowned diffuser. The profile is designed for surface mounting LED tape onto walls, under shelving, along cabinet edges and within furniture builds where the tape needs to sit behind a shaped diffuser rather than exposed. The 16mm height gives enough depth to accommodate most standard-width LED tapes while the crowned diffuser spreads the light across a wider angle than flat diffusers.

Designed for architectural lighting installations, retail shelving displays, kitchen plinths and wardrobes where LED tape runs need to blend into dark surfaces, the black anodised finish disappears against black or dark-toned backgrounds. The diffuser clips onto the profile with a snap-fit mechanism, making it removable for tape installation and future bulb replacements without dismantling the entire run. The profile ships with end caps and mounting clips to secure the extrusion to the installation surface.

The internal channel measures 12x10mm, giving clearance for most 8mm and 10mm-wide LED tapes without the tape sitting proud of the profile edge. The crowned shape of the diffuser directs light forwards and downwards at approximately 120 degrees, reducing direct glare when the profile is mounted at or above eye level. The 2m length can be cut to size on site using a hacksaw, allowing custom runs to be fitted to exact shelf or cabinet widths.

What width LED tape does this profile accept?

The internal channel is 12x10mm, which accommodates most standard 8mm and 10mm-wide LED tapes. Tapes wider than 10mm may not fit inside the profile unless trimmed.

Can the profile be cut to length?

Yes. The 2m aluminium extrusion can be cut to custom lengths using a hacksaw or mitre saw with a metal-cutting blade. Cut surfaces should be deburred before installing end caps.

Is the diffuser removable after installation?

Yes. The crowned diffuser uses a snap-fit clip onto the profile body, allowing it to be removed for tape installation or replacement without dismantling the mounting clips or re-fixing the profile to the surface.

What's included in the box?

The profile ships with the 2m aluminium extrusion, the crowned diffuser, end caps and surface-mount clips. LED tape is sold separately.
