Description
The LYYT LED switch light is a 116mm x 76mm battery-powered LED panel delivering 200 lumens from two COB LED strips, controlled by a centre-mounted rocker switch. The unit runs on three AAA batteries (sold separately) and requires no mains wiring, allowing it to be mounted in locations without existing electrical infrastructure.
Designed for cupboards, wardrobes, lofts, sheds, garage storage areas and under-cabinet lighting where running mains cables is impractical, the LYYT mounts in three ways: adhesive wall mount using the rear pad, magnetic attachment to metal surfaces such as filing cabinets or metal shelving, or screw-fixed through the rear keyhole slot. The white ABS housing measures 23mm deep and weighs 71g before batteries are fitted, making it light enough for adhesive mounting on most clean, dry surfaces.
The two yellow COB LED strips sit either side of the switch and provide a broad flood of light rather than a focused beam, suited to illuminating the interior of a wardrobe or the shelves inside a kitchen cupboard. The LEDs are rated for approximately 50,000 hours of operation, and the 200-lumen output sits between a typical phone torch (80-120 lumens) and a small desk lamp (300-400 lumens), providing enough light to find items in a dark space without overwhelming a small enclosure.

Frequently Asked
How long do the batteries last?
Battery life depends on usage pattern and battery quality. With typical alkaline AAA batteries and intermittent use (5-10 minutes per day), expect several weeks to a few months before replacement is needed. Continuous operation will drain batteries within hours.
Can it be left switched on continuously?
The LYYT is designed for intermittent use rather than continuous operation. Leaving it switched on will drain the batteries quickly and may cause the unit to overheat. For continuous lighting, a mains-powered fitting is more appropriate.
What surfaces will the magnetic mount work on?
The rear magnetic pad adheres to ferrous metal surfaces such as steel filing cabinets, metal shelving, steel door frames and appliance casings. It will not stick to aluminium, stainless steel (in most cases), wood, plastic or painted surfaces unless there is a steel substrate beneath the paint.
Is it suitable for outdoor use?
No. The LYYT carries no IP rating and is not weatherproof. It is designed for indoor use only in dry locations such as cupboards, wardrobes, lofts and sheds where moisture ingress is minimal.
