Description

The LYYT IP65 COB LED strip is a 5-metre continuous LED tape using chip-on-board technology to deliver spot-free warm white light at 3000K. The COB construction packs 528 individual LED chips per metre onto the flexible circuit board and covers them with a phosphor coating, producing a seamless light output without visible hotspots or individual LED dots when viewed directly or reflected off surfaces.

Designed for both indoor and outdoor installation, the IP65 silicone coating protects the LEDs from dust and water jets, making the strip suitable for bathroom vanities, outdoor decking perimeter lighting, under-cabinet kitchen lighting, and hospitality feature walls. The strip runs on 24V DC low voltage, requiring a compatible LED driver or power supply (sold separately). Self-adhesive backing on the reverse allows mounting directly to clean, dry surfaces, and the strip can be cut at 45.45mm intervals to fit exact installation lengths.

The 120-degree beam angle spreads light evenly across adjacent surfaces, and the Ra>90 colour rendering index reproduces warm tones and skin tones accurately, making the strip appropriate for retail display lighting and residential applications where colour fidelity matters. At 12W per metre, a full 5m reel draws 60W total and weighs 300g, allowing installation on vertical surfaces and overhead positions without additional mechanical support. The 12mm x 4mm cross-section profile fits into narrow recesses and aluminium extrusion channels designed for LED strip lighting.

The strip runs on 24V DC. For a full 5m reel drawing 60W total, a 24V LED driver rated at 60W minimum (or higher for headroom) is needed. Power supplies are sold separately. Match the output voltage (24V) and ensure the wattage rating meets or exceeds the strip's total power draw.

Where can the strip be cut?

Cutting points are marked every 45.45mm along the length. Cut only at these designated points using sharp scissors or a craft knife. Cutting elsewhere will damage the circuit and prevent the affected section from lighting.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when paired with a compatible 24V dimmable LED driver or in-line PWM dimmer. The strip itself has no built-in dimming control, so dimming capability depends entirely on the power supply or controller used.

Can it be installed outdoors year-round?

The IP65 rating protects against dust and water jets, making it suitable for covered outdoor installations such as soffits, pergolas, and sheltered decking. For fully exposed locations subject to prolonged rain or submersion, IP67 or IP68 rated strip would be more appropriate.
