Description

The LYYT bendable LED strip profile is a 2m aluminium extrusion designed to follow curves, columns and non-linear architectural features where rigid profiles cannot be used. The aluminium channel measures 17.9mm wide by 5.7mm tall externally, with a 13.3mm internal cavity for LED strip tape up to 13mm wide. The profile bends to a minimum radius of 50mm, allowing it to navigate tight curves, cylindrical columns and radiused corners.

Designed for surface mounting onto walls, ceilings, furniture edges and architectural details, the profile ships with mounting clips spaced along the 2m length to secure it to the installation surface. The opaque polycarbonate diffuser clips into the channel top, concealing the LED strip beneath and diffusing the light output into a continuous line with no visible LED hotspots. The diffuser remains in place when the profile is bent.

The 2m length allows the profile to run continuously along extended curves or multiple radiused sections without visible joins. Where longer runs are needed, multiple 2m sections can be butted end-to-end using the supplied end caps to bridge the join. The aluminium construction acts as a heat sink, dissipating thermal build-up from high-output LED strips and maintaining consistent brightness along the full run.

What LED strip width fits inside the profile?

The internal cavity measures 13.3mm wide by 4mm deep. Most standard 12mm and narrower LED strip tapes fit comfortably. Measure your specific strip before ordering to confirm clearance.

Does the diffuser stay in place when bent?

Yes. The opaque polycarbonate diffuser clips into grooves along the aluminium channel and remains secure even when the profile is bent to the 50mm minimum radius. It can be removed and refitted if needed.

How is the profile mounted to the surface?

The profile ships with mounting clips that attach to the underside of the aluminium channel. The clips are screwed or adhered to the installation surface, then the profile snaps into the clips. This allows the profile to be removed for maintenance without disturbing the fixings.

Can multiple 2m sections be joined?

Yes. End caps are supplied to close the profile ends. When butting two sections together, the LED strip runs continuously beneath while the end caps provide a finished transition at the join point.
