Description

The LYYT 15m LED strip kit provides three 5m reels of IP65-rated cool white LED tape emitting 6000K light, paired with a 12V IP67-rated power supply and five pairs of DC screw terminal connectors. The tape runs on safe low-voltage 12V DC and ships with self-adhesive backing for mounting onto clean, dry surfaces.

Designed for extended lighting runs in kitchens, retail displays, hospitality spaces, signage and commercial fitouts, the 6000K colour temperature delivers a crisp, daylight-balanced white that enhances task visibility and product presentation. The IP65 rating on the tape allows use in indoor damp environments such as under-cabinet kitchen lighting, bathroom mirrors (zone 2 or outside zones), and retail units where condensation or cleaning spray contact may occur. The IP67-rated supply offers additional protection against dust and brief water immersion.

Each 5m reel is supplied separately and can be installed as a single continuous 15m run or cut and wired as three independent 5m sections depending on layout requirements. For runs over 5m, connect the same 12V supply to both ends of the tape to prevent voltage drop and maintain consistent brightness along the full length. The included screw terminal plugs and sockets support up to 5A load per connector, providing secure connections without soldering. A BS1363 UK plug top is required for mains connection and is not included in the kit.

Can the tape be cut to shorter lengths?

Yes. LED strip tape typically has cut marks every 50-100mm along its length where it can be trimmed with scissors. Once cut, each section requires separate wiring to the power supply. Confirm the cut interval on your specific reel before installation.

Is this dimmable?

The tape itself is compatible with 12V DC LED dimmers when installed between the power supply and the tape. A dimmer is not included in this kit. Ensure any dimmer used is rated for the total wattage of the LED tape connected to it.

What's the difference between IP65 tape and IP67 supply?

IP65 tape is protected against low-pressure water jets and dust, suitable for indoor damp environments but not submersion. IP67 supply is protected against brief submersion up to 1m depth for 30 minutes, offering higher protection for the driver unit.

Why connect the supply to both ends on long runs?

LED tape experiences voltage drop over distance. On runs over 5m, brightness may fade towards the far end if powered from one side only. Feeding 12V to both ends of the tape maintains consistent voltage and brightness across the full 15m length.
