Luna Stoneware Milk Jug 1500ml - Blue

Our Luna milk jug is all about its shape. A rounded upper section draws in at a narrow waist, then swells out again into a fuller base, with a small pouring lip at the rim and a generous loop handle on the side. A blue glaze covers the top half and runs down in drips that stop partway over the plain, matt lower half. It is made from 100% stoneware, holds 1500ml and stands 15cm tall and 14cm across.

Although we call it a milk jug, 1500ml is a generous size. It is as much at home holding water or juice on the dinner table as it is pouring milk at breakfast, and it gives a weekend brunch or a summer lunch in the garden something nicer to pour from than a carton. The loop handle is big enough to fit your fingers through it. In the kitchen it earns its place left out on the worktop or an open shelf between meals, ready to be filled again. It suits anyone who likes everyday pieces with a bit of character, and it makes a thoughtful housewarming present for someone setting up a new kitchen.

Stoneware is a dense, hard-wearing ceramic, and this jug is made entirely of it. It goes in the dishwasher, so it can be washed with the rest of the breakfast things, but keep it out of the microwave and the oven. It weighs 0.9KG, so it feels solid rather than delicate in the hand. Because of the nature of the glaze, colour variations may occur, and the blue on your jug may differ slightly from the next one. For styling, stand it on a plain wooden table or a kitchen dresser beside simpler pieces, and let the blue glaze be the main note of colour.
