Description

Luna Black Round M is a round wall mirror 150cm across, made as two half moons rather than a single disc. They meet at a recessed central joint that sits deeper than the glass either side, and a strip of black lacquered glass is set into that channel, so the disc reads as one plane with a dark line drawn down it. The design is by Studio Segers, stripped back to the two shapes and the joint between them.

At a metre and a half across it wants a wall chosen for it rather than a space between furniture, and the dark joint gives it a vertical that a plain round mirror does not have. It arrives in parts and is assembled on the wall, which is what makes a mirror this size possible to carry up a staircase. It hangs in one direction, with the joint upright. At 31kg it is a two person lift onto fixings that reach something structural, with two screws, washers and plugs supplied. It is not rated for bathroom use, so keep it to dry rooms. A larger 200cm size is made, and a version with a lit joint instead of the black strip.

The mirror is mirrored glass with a black lacquered glass strip at the joint. Clean the glass with cleaner sprayed onto a soft cloth, working outwards from the joint rather than across it so the lacquered strip is not dragged over. Neither half stands proud of the other, so the disc reads as a single plane rather than as two pieces butted together. Seven year warranty, made in Europe.
