Description

A pair of iron candlesticks finished in antique brass, each 11cm tall and 3.5cm across the base. The form runs from a wide flat foot up a cone that narrows into a short waisted neck, then opens again into a deep cup that takes a dinner candle. The surface is cut into broad vertical facets rather than turned smooth, and the brass sits unevenly over them, darker in the hollows than on the ridges.

At 11cm these are low candlesticks. A dinner candle in one stands clear of the plates without cutting a sightline across a laid table, and each takes only 3.5cm of surface, so a pair can go either side of a centrepiece without crowding it.

The metal is iron under an antique brass finish. The facets are worked by hand, so the planes fall differently on each one and the finish varies from one to the next. Two are supplied. The candles are not included.

Frequently Asked

How many are supplied?

Two.

What candle do they take?

A dinner candle, standing in the cup at the top.

How tall are they?

11cm, on a base 3.5cm across.

What are they made of?

Iron, finished in antique brass.

How do I look after them?

Wash with a mild dish soap and warm water after each use so wax does not build up, and keep harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners off the finish. Stand the candle securely, keep them out of reach of children, let them cool fully before handling, and never leave a burning candle unattended.
