This is the Lil Scallop Plain Velvet Cushion, a square 45cm cushion in a deep chocolate brown with a scalloped edge finished in contrast burgundy piping and thread. The face is a plain velvet with no pattern, so the interest comes entirely from the shape of the edge and the two-tone colour play rather than any print. It is a soft polyester velvet, which gives that short, dense pile and the way the colour shifts a little as the light and the nap catch it.

A 45cm square is the standard sofa and bed cushion size, which makes this an easy one to slot into an existing arrangement rather than having to rethink the whole set. The chocolate ground is a warm, grounding neutral that sits happily against cream, caramel and other browns, while the burgundy scallop gives it enough of a lift to read as considered rather than plain. Use one as a quiet anchor among brighter cushions, or a pair at either end of a sofa where the scalloped outline gets room to show. It works equally well propped against pillows on a bed.
