Description

This is a small black table lamp in iron, and the detail that makes it is the shade: a cone whose lower edge falls in soft waves rather than a straight line. It stands 28cm tall, 15cm long and 13.5cm wide, with a shade 15cm across and 11.4cm tall set on a slender stem above a round base. It runs on a rechargeable battery, so it is not tied to a socket while it is lit, and at 0.9KG it is easy to lift and carry from room to room.

That freedom from a socket is what decides where it goes. At 28cm tall it suits a bedside table, a deep windowsill, a bookshelf or the corner of a desk, places where a trailing flex would look untidy or a socket is out of reach.
