Description

This is a table lamp made entirely of iron, with a slim angled stem rising from a round base and a bell-shaped shade set at the top on a small joint. It stands 37cm tall, 26cm long and 15cm wide, so it fits on a desk or bedside table without taking over the surface. The shade itself is 15.5cm tall and 13cm across, a deep bell whose open end faces down towards the table. The whole lamp is grey, a quiet colour that sits easily beside pale wood, white walls and painted furniture.

We would put it on a desk or work table, where the open shade faces papers, a keyboard or a book, and it works just as well on a bedside table or on a side table beside a reading chair. The cable is 180cm long, which gives a fair reach to a wall socket from a desk pushed against the wall. The switch sits on the base, so you turn it on and off at table height without feeling up under the shade or down along the cable. It is rated IP20, which means it belongs in dry rooms: a study, a bedroom, a living room or a hallway.
