Description

Lakey is a stoneware tray with a freeform outline that looks as though it was poured rather than cut: one long side dips inward in a deep curve, the other edges swell and roll, and a low upright rim follows every turn. It measures 32cm long, 21.5cm wide and 3cm tall, roomy enough for the small things that otherwise scatter across a surface, yet compact enough for a side table or a narrow shelf. The blue surface is mottled with fine speckles, so it reads as soft and textured rather than flat.

On a desk it gathers pencils, pins, clips and a ball of twine in one place; on a coffee table or side table it becomes a low tray for dried stems, seed heads or a few pebbles. In a hallway it keeps keys and coins together, and on a dressing table or a bathroom shelf it gives rings, earrings and hair clips somewhere to rest. At 3cm tall, the tray is shallow enough that you can see and reach everything at a glance, while stopping small pieces from rolling away.
