Description

The Knightsbridge DC016 is a wireless motion-activated chime system pairing a battery-powered PIR motion sensor with a mains-powered plug-in receiver. The sensor detects movement within a 110° angle up to 5 metres away and triggers one of 58 selectable ringtones on the receiver at volumes up to 110dB. A visual LED alert on the receiver provides a secondary notification when the audible chime may not be heard.

Designed for driveways, garden paths, shop entrances, warehouse loading bays and any indoor or covered outdoor zone where movement needs to trigger an alert, the system requires no wiring between sensor and receiver — communication operates on a 433MHz wireless signal with a range of approximately 75-150 metres depending on building construction and obstacles. The sensor runs on two AA batteries (not included) and carries an IP20 rating, making it suitable for covered outdoor use but not exposure to rain.

The plug-in receiver measures 81mm square and plugs directly into a standard UK mains socket, consuming less than 10mW on standby. The learning code function allows the receiver to pair with the specific sensor, preventing false triggers from neighbouring wireless devices. Additional receivers or sensors can be added to the system if a site needs multiple alert points or multiple detection zones. The white finish suits residential, retail and light commercial environments.

Frequently Asked

What is the detection range and angle?

The motion sensor detects movement up to 5 metres away within a 110° horizontal angle. Detection accuracy depends on the subject's size, speed and the ambient temperature — slower-moving subjects or those at the edge of the detection cone may not trigger reliably.

Can the receiver be paired with multiple sensors?

Yes. The learning code function allows one receiver to pair with multiple sensors, or one sensor to trigger multiple receivers. Additional Knightsbridge-compatible sensors and receivers can be added to the system as needed.

Is the sensor weatherproof?

The sensor carries an IP20 rating, meaning it is not protected against water ingress and should only be used indoors or under a covered porch, canopy or eave. For fully exposed outdoor use, a higher IP-rated sensor would be required.

How is the volume controlled?

The receiver has a volume control allowing adjustment from low to 110dB maximum. The visual LED alert remains active regardless of volume setting, providing a backup when the audible chime is turned down or cannot be heard.
