Description

A handwoven floor runner 200cm long and 66cm wide, in jute shot through with an olive green tweed yarn. The weave is coarse and open, and the tweed sits in irregular bands and flecks across the pale jute ground rather than in a regular stripe, so the tone shifts along the length. Both short ends finish in a fringe plaited by hand.

This is a floor runner rather than a table runner: it lies along bare floorboards and is made for spaces that take heavy traffic. At 66cm wide it covers the walking width of most hallways, and 200cm carries the length of a hall, a boot room or an entrance. It is 1cm thick and lies flat.

The runner is jute blended with a textured tweed yarn in wool, woven on a traditional loom, and the fringed edges are plaited by hand afterwards. The weave and the tone shift from one runner to the next, so no two are alike. The Kanta range also holds a rug at 150 by 240cm.
