Description

Jilian is a round stoneware candle holder with a face drawn across its body in one loose, wandering line. The body is a near sphere in white, finely flecked, set between a short neck and a low foot that both show the plain stoneware beneath. The face is slightly lopsided, with a single dot beside it, and it gives the piece a sketched, characterful look that a plain holder lacks. At 10cm across and 11.5cm tall it is small enough for a shelf or windowsill yet full enough in shape to hold its own on a table, and the candle stands in the narrow neck at the top.

Because it is compact, it suits the places where a tall candlestick would feel like too much: a bedside table, a bookshelf, a mantelpiece or the middle of a small dining table.
