Description

A large iron planter raised on its own stand, 72cm to the rim and 48cm across. The pot is a plain drum with straight sides and a flat base, and the stand is four slim dark legs braced by a cross underneath, so the pot is carried clear of the floor rather than standing on it. The oxidised surface runs gold through green to rust in broad patches, and no two areas of it are the same.

The rim sits 72cm off the floor, so a plant starts at about table height and its foliage reads from across a room rather than from above. At 48cm across, the pot takes a large plant such as a monstera, with the leaves standing well above the rim. The stand lifts the base clear of the floor on four legs.

The planter and the stand are both iron, joined by hand section by section. The oxidation is run under controlled conditions rather than left to happen on its own, so the tone and the texture shift across every pot and no two come out alike. It is made to hold a plant in its own pot rather than to be planted into directly.
