Description

The Knightsbridge IP65 GU10 outdoor spotlight is a die-cast aluminium fitting supplied with both a wall bracket and a ground spike, allowing it to be mounted on vertical surfaces or driven into soil or gravel. The spotlight head tilts and rotates on a knuckle joint, directing a GU10 lamp beam onto walls, pathways, trees or architectural features. The IP65 rating protects against dust ingress and water jets from any direction, making the fitting suitable for exposed locations.

Designed for garden uplighting, pathway marking, facade washing and feature lighting, the spotlight pairs with any standard GU10 LED or halogen lamp up to 35W (sold separately). The wall bracket fixes to brick, render or timber with two screws and provides a 104mm projection from the mounting surface. The ground spike is 150mm long and pushes into soft ground or can be concreted into a gravel bed for permanent installation. The 1.5m pre-wired outdoor cable terminates without a plug, requiring connection to a weatherproof junction box or outdoor switch fuse spur.

The die-cast aluminium body is finished in black powder coat that resists UV degradation and corrosion in coastal or high-moisture environments. The clear glass lens sits behind a 65mm diameter bezel that shades the lamp from direct view when the spotlight is angled upwards. The Class I construction requires an earth connection on installation. Dimming depends on the GU10 lamp chosen — pair with a dimmable LED GU10 and a compatible outdoor dimmer for variable output.

What bulb does it take?

The spotlight accepts any standard GU10 halogen or LED lamp up to 35W. Lamps are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 5-7W GU10 LED in warm white (2700K-3000K) for garden uplighting or 4000K for security applications.

Can it be used on a wall and in the ground?

Yes. The fitting is supplied with both a wall bracket and a ground spike. You can mount it on a vertical surface using the wall bracket, or push the spike into soil or gravel for ground-level uplighting. Only one mounting method is used at a time.

Is it weatherproof?

Yes. The IP65 rating protects against dust ingress and water jets from any direction, making it suitable for exposed outdoor locations including coastal areas. The die-cast aluminium construction and powder-coated finish resist corrosion.

How is it wired?

The spotlight is pre-wired with 1.5m of outdoor-rated cable. The cable terminates without a plug and must be connected to a weatherproof junction box, outdoor switch fuse spur, or similar mains connection point. Installation requires a qualified electrician.
