Description

Hoop Outdoor Black L is a round mirror 105cm across made for outdoor use rather than adapted to it. The silvering is specially treated so rain, sun and wind do not lift it, and the suspension is a heavier outdoor system rather than the hooks an indoor mirror uses. A slim satin black metal frame runs round the edge of the glass, deep enough to read as a drawn circle from across a garden and shallow enough to disappear close up.

Outside, a mirror does something different from what it does indoors: it opens a wall, carries light into a shaded corner and shows a part of the garden you cannot otherwise see. On a boundary wall it reads as a window through to somewhere else. It hangs in one direction. At 14kg and 2cm deep it is a one person lift, fixed with two hooks and plugs, and nothing needs assembling. It is rated bathroom proof as well, so a wet room is within its range. Note the warranty is two years rather than the seven the indoor range carries, which reflects what weather does to any mirror over time.

The mirror is outdoor treated mirrored glass in a satin black metal frame with an outdoor suspension system. Clean it with cleaner sprayed onto a soft cloth and rinse grit off rather than wiping it across the glass, since outdoor dust is abrasive. It is the finish on the metal as much as the treated silvering that lets the mirror stand outside, so keep the frame rinsed rather than letting grit sit against it. Two year warranty, made in Belgium.
