Description

This is an oval stoneware platter, 34cm long, 25cm wide and 3.5cm tall, decorated by hand in blue. A broad blue border of leafy sprigs and small flowers runs around the rim, the centre carries a fine scatter of tiny leaves, and two birds fly across the middle. Each end has a handle shaped as a bird, its wings drawn in fine lines and its head tucked down at the outer edge, so you have something to hold when you carry it to the table. At this size it is a platter for a shared dish rather than a single plate.
