Description
The Heath curtains are made from an enzyme-washed velvet, a finish that softens the pile and gives the cloth its lived-in, slightly weathered handle rather than the flat sheen of a new velvet. Woven with a subtle jacquard texture, the surface catches the light gently across the drop and reads as a warm, muted terracotta in our Cotta colourway. They arrive as a pair, fully lined, with a pencil pleat header already gathered so the fabric falls in even, upright folds from the top. They come in a range of sizes, from 117 x 137cm up to 229 x 229cm, so there is a width and drop to suit most standard windows.
These are curtains for a calm, considered room rather than a busy one. The plain washed velvet works with wood, rattan and neutral walls, and the soft pink-brown tone sits happily alongside cream, stone and darker timber without competing with anything else in the space. They suit a living room or bedroom where you want a bit of weight and warmth at the window, and the lining gives them a fuller body that helps them hang and pool nicely at the floor. A pencil pleat header threads onto standard curtain hooks and works with both a track and a pole, so they fit most existing fittings.
The pencil pleat tape lets you draw the gathers up to the width you need and choose your hook position, which is worth doing before you hang so the fold depth is even across both panels. Being 100% polyester, the velvet is hard-wearing, holds its colour well and resists the creasing you would get with a natural pile, which is a real advantage on a full-length curtain that spends its life hanging. The washed finish means the texture is meant to look relaxed rather than crisp, so a little movement in the drape is part of the look.

Frequently Asked
Are these curtains sold as a pair?
Yes, each order is a pair of curtains, so you receive two panels to dress both sides of the window from a single purchase.
What does the pencil pleat header need to hang?
The pencil pleat tape takes standard curtain hooks and works with either a pole or a track, so it fits most existing fittings you already have.
What is enzyme-washed velvet like to live with?
The wash softens the pile for a relaxed, slightly weathered handle, so the texture looks intentionally lived-in rather than crisp and new.
Does the polyester make any difference to how they wear?
Polyester is hard-wearing and holds its colour well, and it resists the deep creasing a natural pile can pick up when hanging full length.
What size should I choose for my window?
The first figure is the width of each panel and the second is the drop, measured per pair, so check both against your window and pole.
What colour is Cotta?
Cotta is a warm, muted terracotta, a soft pink-brown that sits well with cream, stone and darker timber in a calm, neutral room.
