Description
Our Harriet Gingham Curtains are a pair of pencil pleat curtains in a tonal gingham check, worked in soft dusky rose against a deeper cocoa brown. The face is woven from 100% cotton, a natural fibre that hangs with a little weight and softens with washing, and the ruffle flop top header runs along the top of each panel to give the finished look its name. They are sold as a pair, fully lined, and come in a range of widths and drops so you can match them to the window you have.
Gingham suits a relaxed, country-leaning room, and this pinkish-brown palette leans warmer than a classic navy or red check. They sit happily in a living room, a bedroom or a snug, and pick up well against greens, natural rattan and earthy accents, as the styled setting shows with its olive sofa and woven side table. Because the check is a small, even grid rather than a large repeat, the pattern reads as texture from across the room and only shows its detail up close, which makes it easy to live with on a large window.
Each panel carries a pencil pleat header tape, which gathers the fabric into neat, even folds and threads onto standard curtain hooks for a rod or track. The lining is a polyester and cotton blend, which adds body and helps the curtains hang cleanly, while the cotton face keeps the surface soft to the touch. The ruffled valance is built into the top of each curtain rather than being a separate pelmet, so there is nothing extra to hang. Being cotton, they will crease a little in the folds and relax as they settle. Follow the care guidance on the sewn-in label for washing.

Frequently Asked
Is this one curtain or a pair?
Each order is a pair of curtains, so you receive two panels to dress a single window, one for each side.
What is the ruffle at the top?
It is a ruffle flop top header built into the top of each panel, giving a soft valance effect without needing to hang a separate pelmet.
How do pencil pleat curtains hang?
The header tape gathers the fabric into even upright folds, then threads onto standard curtain hooks so they suit either a pole or a track.
What is the face fabric made from?
The face is 100% cotton, a natural fibre that feels soft and hangs with gentle weight, while the lining behind it is a polyester and cotton blend.
Which size should I choose?
Sizes run from 117 by 137cm up to 229 by 229cm per pair, so measure your pole width and the drop you want before selecting.
Will the cotton crease?
Being a natural fibre, cotton holds soft creases in the folds when new, and these tend to relax and drop out as the curtains settle on the pole.
