Description

This is a cream stoneware platter in an easy oval, 29cm long, 18cm wide and 2.5cm tall, with a large lobster motif laid across its centre. The lobster is picked out in a glossy glaze, claws and feelers stretched wide, while the ground around it has a softer, speckled surface and an uneven rim that gives the piece a relaxed, informal feel. At 0.9KG it has a reassuring weight without being awkward to pass along the table. Stoneware is dense and hard-wearing, which is why we like it for pieces that get used every week rather than saved for best.
