Description

The Greenberry is a modern wall light that sets one green ribbed glass shade at the top of a long, slim black iron rod. The shade is blown glass, a soft cylinder with rounded ends, its fine vertical ribs running from top to bottom so the glass catches the light as it passes through. A small black cup holds the shade, and a short arm carries the rod out from a round backplate, so the whole fitting stands slightly proud of the wall as a tall, narrow line. It takes one E27 lamp, the standard large screw cap, which opens up a wide choice of bulbs and light colours.

Because the glass is green, it brings colour to a wall even when the lamp is off, which makes it a good choice for a hallway, a landing, a bedroom or a living room where a plain wall wants a little life. Its tall, slim build suits narrow spaces: beside a doorway, along a corridor or either side of a bed, where it gives light without taking up the bedside table. A pair either side of a mirror or a fireplace gives a balanced look. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only.

The frame is iron and the shade is blown glass, so the metalwork stays plain and the green glass does the talking. It works from an ordinary on-off switch rather than a dimmer, runs on 220-240V mains and is one for a qualified electrician to install. It carries a 3 year guarantee.
