Description

The Gong is a large disc pendant light, 96cm across and just 7.5cm tall, finished in Gold Leaf. From below it reads as a broad, shallow plate of warm gold, its leafed surface catching the light in soft, uneven ripples. Inside sits an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It draws 88W and gives 8825 lumens of warm white light at 3000K, with a CRI of 90, so food, faces and fabrics keep their true colours.

At 96cm wide, this pendant light is made for rooms with space around it. We like it over a dining table, where one fitting lights the whole table at once, or as the main light in a living room with a generous ceiling. It hangs on a drop of up to 200cm, so you can set it low over the table or higher where the ceiling is tall. It dims too, through a DALI control system or by push dimming, so you can take it down from full brightness for a quieter evening. It is rated IP20, which means it is for dry rooms only.

The fitting runs on 230V mains power and is wired in, so it is for a qualified electrician to install. Its ceiling canopy is 20cm across, modest beside the disc, so the Gold Leaf finish keeps the attention. The disc itself is slim, only 7.5cm from top to bottom, which keeps its outline clean when you see it side on from across the room.
