Description

The Gong is a wide, flat disc pendant light, 96cm across and just 7.5cm deep, finished in black. Its light comes from an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. At 88W it gives 8825 lumens of warm white light at 3000K, with a CRI of 90, so colours, food and fabrics look true beneath it. The disc hangs from thin suspension wires, and the round canopy at the ceiling is 20cm across. It is a simple, bold shape that reads as one dark circle in the room.

With a diameter of almost a metre, this is a pendant for a room with space around it. We see it over a long dining table, where its broad black disc and generous output light the whole surface, or at the centre of a living room as the main light. The drop goes down to a maximum of 200cm, so it can hang from a high ceiling or sit lower over a table. It is rated IP20, which means it belongs in dry rooms only.

It runs on 230V mains and is wired in by a qualified electrician. It is dimmable by DALI or by push dimming, so it can run from a DALI control system or a push switch, and you can turn it down for a quiet evening meal or up for a full, bright room. The black finish keeps the form clean and simple, a single dark shape against a pale ceiling.
