Description

This small rectangular plate is stoneware, painted by hand with green leafy fronds that curl across its whole face from one end to the other. It measures 15cm long, 11.5cm wide and 2cm tall, with softly rounded corners and a low rim that rises gently from a flat base. That puts it below a typical side plate in size: the right size for a slice of cake, a pastry or a couple of biscuits, and easy to pass round the table. It weighs 0.276KG.

We see it on the kitchen table at breakfast, beside the teapot in the afternoon or on a drinks tray in the evening, holding olives, nuts, a wedge of cheese or a pat of butter.
