Description

The Esme is a set of two heart-shaped cast aluminium plates finished in raw silver aluminium with a textured, hammered surface that catches and reflects ambient light. Each plate measures 14cm wide and 1cm deep, with a raised lip that follows the heart outline. The plates are sold as a pair and designed for decorative display rather than functional use — they are not food-safe.

The plates suit mantelpieces, open shelving, console tables and bedroom dressing tables where small decorative objects are grouped together. Their 14cm width makes them small enough to cluster in pairs or trios alongside candles, small vases or framed photos, but substantial enough to hold their own as standalone pieces. The silver aluminium finish pairs with both warm and cool colour schemes and complements glass, wood and ceramic accessories.

Cast aluminium gives each plate a lightweight 90g weight per piece, which means they sit securely on most surfaces without needing adhesive but can be moved easily when rearranging displays. The textured surface shows tonal variation across the face of each heart depending on how light strikes it — under direct light the surface reads as bright silver, while in softer lighting it takes on a pewter tone with visible grain and texture detail.

No. The Esme plates are decorative accessories only and are not food-safe. They are designed for display on shelves, mantels and console tables.

How are they cleaned?

Wipe gently with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. For fingerprints or dust, a barely-damp cloth is acceptable. Do not use abrasive cleaners or polishes, as these may alter the textured finish.

Do they tarnish or oxidise?

Raw aluminium does not tarnish in the same way as silver or brass. It may develop a fine patina over time if exposed to moisture, but this is typically minimal in indoor display conditions.
