Description

The Energizer LED outdoor wall light combines an integrated LED with an adjustable photocell sensor in a black IP44-rated housing. The photocell automatically switches the light on at dusk and off at dawn, with a timer adjustment allowing the light to run for between 1 and 12 hours after activation. Three operation modes (On, Off, Auto) give manual override when needed.

Designed for external wall mounting on driveways, pathways, garden entrances and porches, the light suits any position where automatic switching removes the need for manual control. The IP44 rating protects against solid objects over 1mm and water splashes from any direction, making it suitable for uncovered external positions exposed to rain. The light can also be used in bathroom zones 1, 2 and 3 (not zone 0), providing a moisture-resistant fitting for areas requiring automatic operation.

The black polycarbonate housing resists impact and UV degradation, maintaining colour consistency through extended outdoor exposure. The integrated LED removes the need for bulb replacement and operates on mains voltage with no transformer required. The photocell sensitivity can be adjusted using a control dial on the unit, allowing the activation threshold to be set for different ambient light levels depending on the installation position and surrounding street lighting.

How does the photocell timer work?

The photocell detects ambient light levels and automatically switches the LED on at dusk. The adjustable timer then keeps the light running for between 1 and 12 hours before switching off, even if it remains dark outside. This prevents the light from running through the entire night if a shorter operating period is preferred.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

Yes. The IP44 rating makes it suitable for bathroom zones 1, 2 and 3 (not zone 0, which is the shower or bath interior). Zone 1 is directly above a bath or shower to a height of 2.25m, zone 2 extends 0.6m around the bath or shower, and zone 3 is the rest of the bathroom.

What are the three operation modes?

On mode keeps the light permanently on regardless of ambient light levels. Off mode disables the light completely. Auto mode activates the photocell sensor, allowing the light to switch on automatically at dusk and run for the set timer duration.

Does the integrated LED need replacing?

No. The LED is integrated into the unit and is rated for the lifespan of the fitting. When the LED eventually reaches end of life, the entire unit would need replacing, but LED lifespans typically exceed 20,000-30,000 hours of operation.
