Description

The Energizer HDL30 is a 400 lumen LED head torch with five lighting modes: high (400 lm), wide (200 lm), low (20 lm), red LED for night vision, and green LED for outdoor stealth applications. Three AAA alkaline batteries are included in the pack, providing 4 hours of runtime on high mode, 5 hours on wide, and 15 hours on low.

Designed for hands-free task lighting, the HDL30 suits home maintenance, camping, night walks, emergency kits, and outdoor activities where preserving night vision matters. The adjustable elastic headband fits over bare heads or helmets, and the lamp housing tilts to angle the beam down onto a task surface or forward along a path. The IPX4 rating protects against rain splash and light moisture, making the torch usable in wet conditions without compromising the electronics.

The head torch uses three white LEDs for the main beam modes and separate red and green LEDs mounted alongside. Switching between modes is controlled by a single push-button on top of the housing — press to cycle through high, wide, low, red, and green. The housing weighs 130g with batteries fitted, light enough to wear comfortably for extended periods without neck strain. The beam throws 80 metres on high mode, 30 metres on wide, and 25 metres on low.

VisionGuard technology ramps up the light intensity gradually when switching on, preventing sudden bright exposure that can temporarily impair vision in dark environments. This feature is particularly useful when moving between lit and unlit areas or when checking maps and equipment at night without losing adaptation to low light.
