Description

This is the ATEX rated head torch in Energizer's working light line-up, and the certification is the reason to choose it over an ordinary lamp. The retail pack carries the markings I M1 and II 1G, which cover equipment certified for use in potentially explosive atmospheres, and the same pack states 130 lumens with a beam reaching 45m. The LED sits in a moulded orange and black head with a sealed lens ringed by corner screws, mounted on a wide strap with a textured non-slip band and a second strap over the crown. Universal helmet attachments are supplied in the box; batteries are not.

It is made for hands-free work in awkward places: inside plant compartments, under a vehicle, along a cable run, up a ladder, or out on site after dark. The clips let it ride on a helmet rather than a bare head, which matters when the rest of the kit is already in place, and the over-crown strap stops the weight creeping down as you move. The pack rates the body IP67, so it is sealed against dust ingress and against temporary immersion in water; rain, spray and a drop into a puddle are all within what that rating covers. The orange housing also makes it easy to find again in a dark van or a crowded tool bag.

Two modes are printed on the pack, along with a 6 hour runtime figure, so a full shift is a fair expectation from a fresh set of cells. Because batteries are not supplied, add cells to your order at the same time if you do not keep spares in the workshop. Energizer does not print a colour temperature for this model.
