Energizer LED Candle B15 5W Filament Dimmable - Warm White 2700K

This is a candle bulb with a B15 small bayonet cap, the smaller of the two bayonet fittings, and it uses LED filament strands inside clear glass rather than a diffused plastic body. It draws 5W and gives 550lm at 2700K, a warm white close in colour to an old incandescent candle lamp. The pack prints a 40W replacement figure and a 15,000 hour lifespan, described there as 15 years. It is dimmable, and it carries energy class E.

Candle bulbs live in fittings where the lamp itself is on show: multi-arm chandeliers, wall lights with small clip-on shades, pendant clusters and mirror lights. Because the filaments sit in clear glass, this one reads as a row of warm lines rather than a flat white cone, which suits open fittings and shades that leave part of the bulb in view. It sits at the brighter end for a candle lamp and matches what most people remember from a 40W incandescent, so a five arm fitting gives plenty of light for a dining table.

What sort of dimmer does it need?

Use a dimmer rated for LED loads, ideally trailing edge. A single 5W lamp may fall below the minimum load of an older dimmer, which shows up as flicker or buzz.

What does 2700K warm white look like in a room?
