This is a high output LED GLS bulb with an E27 screw cap, the classic rounded household shape in a frosted white finish. It draws 18W and gives 2452 lumens at 2700K, a warm white close in colour to the old tungsten lamps. The pack sets it against a 150W incandescent, which is the top end of what a domestic fitting is usually asked to do, and the energy rating is D.

It suits the rooms where one central light has to do all the work: a large living room with a single pendant, a kitchen ceiling rose, a stairwell or a long hallway where a 60W equivalent always felt weak. Workshops, home offices and craft rooms benefit too, because more lumens at a warm colour temperature lets you pick out detail without the light going cold and clinical. In an open shade the bulb itself is on show, so the plain frosted envelope earns its place: it spreads the output and softens the source rather than throwing a hard point of glare across the room.

The bulb is not dimmable, so pair it with an ordinary on and off switch; on a dimmer circuit a non-dimmable lamp can flicker, buzz or fail early. E27 is the larger of the two common screw caps used in the UK, so compare it against your old bulb if you are unsure, because E14 looks similar at a glance and is noticeably narrower. Will this fit my existing lamp holder?

It takes an E27 screw holder, the larger UK screw cap. Unscrew your old bulb and compare the threads; E14 is the narrower screw cap and will not fit this one.

Can I use it on a dimmer switch?

No. The pack marks it non-dimmable, so it needs a plain on and off switch. Used on a dimmer it may flicker, hum or shorten its working life.

How bright is 2452 lumens in a real room?

Very bright for a single bulb. The pack rates it as a 150W replacement, so it is roughly two and a half times a typical 60W equivalent lamp.

What does 2700K warm white actually look like?

It is a soft yellow-toned white, the colour people associate with older filament lamps. It flatters wood, warm paint colours and skin tones rather than looking blue.

Is a protection rating given for this bulb?

The manufacturer does not state an IP rating. Treat it as a standard indoor lamp for ordinary dry domestic and workplace fittings, fully enclosed or open shades alike.
