Description

A plant stand made of four thin iron rods, 80.5cm tall and standing on a square footprint 27cm each way. The rods run straight down from a ring at the top and cross at floor level in an X, so the stand reads as a set of lines rather than as a solid shape. The ring holds a deep iron bowl that sits down into it with its lower half hanging below, and the bowl holds 7500ml. The bowl is finished close to black and streaked with dull gold where the patina breaks.

The stand raises the bowl to 80.5cm, so a trailing plant hangs clear of the floor instead of pooling on it. The footprint is only 27cm square and the frame is open rod, so it takes very little floor and does not block the light behind it. That suits a corner, the end of a sofa, or the gap beside a window where nothing with a solid base would fit. Endo is made in two heights and this is the taller of them.

The bowl and the frame are both iron and the bowl is reclaimed. The black finish is left distressed rather than even, so the gold streaking falls differently on every bowl and no two match. Supplied without an inner pot.
