A standard GLS bulb on a B22 bayonet cap, the push and twist fitting most older UK pendants, table lamps and ceiling roses use. It draws 8.5W and gives 806 lumens, which the retail pack rates as the equal of a 60W incandescent, so it is a like for like swap in general lighting. The colour is 6500K daylight: a crisp, faintly blue white rather than the yellow of a filament lamp. The pack diagram puts the envelope at 60mm across and 101mm long, the usual GLS footprint, and each box holds two bulbs.

Daylight white is a working light rather than a restful one. It suits kitchens, utility rooms, garages, workshops, home offices and stairwells, anywhere you want to read small print or judge colour honestly. In a sitting room or bedroom most people find 6500K too cool and prefer a warm white lamp of the same shape. On brightness, 806 lumens is about what a 60W bulb used to give, so one is enough for a small room ceiling fitting, while a larger room reads better with two or three softer points of light than one bright one.

Look at the holder rather than the old bulb. A B22 holder is a plain collar with two small slots that the bulb pushes into and twists to lock, with no screw thread. A screw thread means you need an E27 instead.

Is 806 lumens really as bright as an old 60W bulb?

The retail pack rates this bulb as a 60W equivalent, and 806 lumens is the figure the industry has settled on for that brightness, so a straight swap should look much the same in a general room fitting.

Can I put it on a dimmer switch?

No. The pack marks it non dimmable, so it needs an ordinary on and off switch. On a dimmer circuit a non dimming LED can flicker, hum at low settings and shorten its own life.

What does 6500K daylight actually look like in a room?

It is a clean white with a slight blue cast, close to overcast daylight. Colours and print read very clearly under it, which is why it works in kitchens, garages and offices rather than bedrooms.

Is it rated for damp or outdoor use?

The manufacturer states no IP rating for this bulb and none is printed on the pack, so we cannot confirm any protection against moisture. Treat it as a bulb for ordinary dry indoor fittings only.
